RNE student wins Best of Show
Eliani Camarena (l), student in Richland Northeast High School's Palmetto Center for the Arts, won Best of Show, the top award at this year's South Carolina State Fair Student Art Exhibition. Camarena, who also is in RNE's English as a Second Language program, received $250 as part of her Best of Show award. Her drawing, "Self-Portrait with Lilies," will go into the collection of exhibition sponsor South Carolina First Citizens Bank. With her is her teacher Mary Catherine Newman (r).
