Hammond and Cardinal Newman reach semifinals

The last three SCISA 3A champions Cardinal Newman (2004 and 2005) and Hammond (2006) were eliminated in the semifinals of this year's tournament by a couple of Halls in Sumter at the Palmetto Tennis Center Friday, October 19.

Cardinal Newman fell to cross- town rival and eventual champion Heathwood Hall 7- 2. While Hammond lost a close battle to Ashley Hall 5- 4.

Heathwood Hall's victory over Ashley Hall means Columbia teams have won the last four SCISA 3A championships.
