Dreher Three- D Players perform Guys and Dolls
Contributed by Richland School District One

The Three- D Players of Dreher High School will present their production of the classic musical comedy Guys and Dolls November 15-18 in the Dreher auditorium. Performers will include (from left) Catherine Davenport, Jay Zenger, Joey White, Roddey Smith and Dana Witoski.
The Dreher High Fine Arts Department will launch what promises to be a series of entertaining theatrical performances in the new school's auditorium with its upcoming production of the classic musical comedy Guys and Dolls.

Guys and Dolls portrays the timeless struggle of how opposites attract, love never goes the way you think it will, and things are never as they seem to be. Using a mixture of Damon Runyon's stories and seedy Broadway characters, Frank Loesser brilliantly weaves story, music, and dance to tell this seemingly simple tale between gamblers and mission dolls.

The Three- D Players will present Guys and Dolls in four performances in the Dreher High auditorium - November 15- 17 at 7:30 and a 3 pm matinee on November 18. The show is collaboration of the Three- D Players, DHS Dance Team, members of the Concert Band and Choir, plus professional musicians and community professionals.

Many of Dreher's alumni and faculty have returned as talent either in front or behind the scenes. Jeanette Arvay directs the production, with Kathleen Lee as choreographer and Caroline Weidner as musical director.

Seniors Jay Zenger as Sky Masterson, Roddey Smith as Nathan Detroit, Dana Witkoski as Miss Adelaide, and Joey White as Nicely- Nicely Johnson have honed their skills to bring a fresh vitality to these thrilling roles.

In true Damon Runy- on style, casting produced a wonderful Sarah Brown in freshman Catherine Davenport. Senior Kendal Titus, supported by a cast of 55 talented, young actors and technical crew, leads them all as apprentice director. Guys and Dolls is a treat you won't want to miss. What a perfect way to start the holiday season!

Tickets are $5 for students and seniors and $7 for adults and can be purchased at the door. Dreher is located at 3319 Millwood Avenue. Please park in the new Millwood Avenue side parking lot and enter under the auditorium sign.
