March of Dimes will hold Annual Signature Chefs Auction

The March of Dimes will host the 8th Annual Signature Chefs Auction Sunday, December 2, 6 pm at the Columbia Marriott Hotel.

This year's event is presented by SYSCO Food Service of Columbia and features 15 of Columbia's finest chefs.

Darci Strickland, anchor for WLTX News 19 will serve as emcee. Strickland is the March of Dimes Prematurity Awareness Ambassador for Columbia.

Each year, the March of Dimes celebrates the culinary excellence of local chefs through this elegant event. The evening begins with generous samplings of each chef 's signature dish.

Tickets are $150 per person, or $1500 for a corporate table of eight. Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are also available.

All proceeds benefit the March of Dimes, which funds research to find the causes and ways to prevent premature birth- an infant health crisis that affects one in six babies in South Carolina. In half of all cases there is no known cause. Premature babies struggle to survive and may face life- long health consequences.
