Midlands Technical College's fall 2007 Human Services case management class hosted the Fifth Annual Jane Addams Awards Gala November 15, 2007, on the college's Airport Campus. The semi- formal/formal event included a reception at 6 pm followed by the awards gala at 6:30 pm.

This year's gala was dedicated to our country's military service persons and included military- themed entertainment and music. Featured speakers at the event included Capt. Alan Wilson, son of U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson and member of the S.C. Army National Guard; and Dr. Marshall (Sonny) White Jr., MTC president.

Each year, Midlands Technical College case management students organize the Jane Addams Awards Gala to recognize people who make a difference in our community. The gala was founded in 2003 by case management student Willie Clark to honor Mary Rawls, director of MTC's Human Services program. Over the following three years, the event hon- ored other local advocates of social equality and service.
