The first bus for Five Points Wheels, a transportation system for the elderly and adults with disabilities, arrived December 5 at 11 am at the Capital Senior Center. The program is staffed by volunteers and provides rides in and around the Five Points Community at no charge.

The senior center secured funds from the S.C. Lieutenant Governor's office on Aging and the S. C. Department of Transportation to administer the program.

Five Points Wheels will roughly serve the area from Rosewood Drive to Beltline to River Drive to Huger Street and back to Rosewood. Neighborhoods to be served include Five Points, Rosewood, Shandon, Waverly, and Earlwood Park.
