Cardinals down the Halls
The match of the night was definitely in the 119 weight class. The Cardinals sent Alexander Guerin to face last year's state champion, Preston Busbee. From the start, it was a tough match. Neither grappler could get a good advantage on the other, but Guerin scored enough points to defeat Busbee, 14- 8, and earn four points for the Cardinals. From there, the rout was on. The Cardinals scored pins from Richard Hodaly at 135, Joey DeAngelis at 140, John Bolchoz at 171, James Williams at 189, Rush Tompkins at 215, and Will Rainwater at 285 (the first victory of his career). Co- captain Shaun Dunphy won a decision at 152. For the Highlanders, Charles Gray at 112 and Patrick Dorn at 160 scored pins.
