Cardinals lose heartbreakers to Barons

      Cardinal Newman battled Wilson Hall in varsity basketball last Friday night. aThe Cardinals had a chance to win both games, but the Barons found a way to squeak by the Cardinals. The Lady Barons won, 39- 37, while the varsity boys won, 46- 45.

Lady Cyclones blow away Blue Devils

      The visiting Chester Cyclones built a 42- 17 lead against the Dreher Blue Devils in the third period and held on to win 52- 38 in the Region III 3A opener for both teams. Dreher played from behind all night as Chester opened the game with a 6- 0 run and never really looked back.

      Spring Valley golfer Ben Fogler shot a 34 on the back nine to come back and win the 13- 14 age group by one stroke in The Players Golf Championship held November 24 and 25 in Hartsville. Fogler shot even par for the two- day event scoring a 70 on Saturday and a 74 Sunday.
