Arden Elementary and Logan Elementary are small Richland One schools, but the students have big hearts. On November 20, 2007, students from both schools donated boxes and bags of food to help families in need this Thanksgiving.
Arden students provided more than 10 boxes of canned food to the Family Shelter. Students began the two- week food drive after learning about the services the Family Shelter provides to the community.
Logan Elementary students chose a different organization to donate to this year. A local food pantry was the recipient of more than 18 bags of non- perishable groceries.
Teachers say service projects such as these help promote academic achievement, build character, and encourage community service for their students.
Richland One commends the students for their generous hearts and caring spirits.
