Third grade SUCCESS students at Killian Elementary School in
Richland District 2 recently completed their first service learning project by
participating in Read to Feed through Heifer International.
Read to Feed is a reading incentive program that pairs reading with
global education. Students are inspired to read more books for pleasure, while
raising money to help end world hunger and improve the environment.
The students received donations totaling $135. The money was used to purchase a "Gift of Goat" and a "Share of Sheep" These animals will help families around the world by supplying food and extra income.
Congratulations to Thalia Watkins and Abhijit Francis
for collecting the most donations. These students received a letter and a
certificate from Heifer International for their hard work.
