Snowman runners battle the elements

      Rain fell on more than 77 runners in the 27th Annual Snowman's Run held at Richland County's Caughman Road Park. The run was an 8K road race and a youth fun run. Every year the Snowman Run T- shirt is designed by a student from Meadowfield Elementary. This year's designer was Ruth Weatherford.

Falcons survive late Shamrock run

      A.C. Flora, led by Dominique Hollins' 20 points, survived a late Eau Claire comeback to win 60- 55 January 22. Clutch free throws by Flora's Khvan Pennix helped the Falcons as the Shamrocks made up an eight point deficit in the game's final 90 seconds.

      Friday, January 18 was the annual Coming Home celebration for Cardinal Newman. As an added bonus, they welcomed home their former coach Wayne Earhardt, now the coach at Ben Lippen. But the Cardinals proved to be rude hosts, pulling away for a 71- 43 win.

      The Spring Valley Vikings outscored the visiting Richland Northeast Cavaliers 44- 28 in the second half to defeat the Cavaliers 69- 50 Tuesday, January 22. The Vikings were led by Charles Lang's 17 points. Larry Sumter led the Cavaliers with 15 points.

      The Ben Lippen Falcons topped the Cardinal Newman Cardinals 30- 29 Friday January 18. The Falcons were led by Lolly Christy with 12 points and Elizabeth Hodges with seven. Tori August led the Cardinals with 11 points.
