Snowman runners battle the elements

Rain fell on more than 77 runners in the 27th Annual Snowman's Run held at Richland County's Caughman Road Park.

The run was an 8K road race and a youth fun run. Every year the Snowman Run T- shirt is designed by a student from Meadowfield Elementary. This year's designer was Ruth Weatherford.

The 8K run is a challenging road course of hills and valleys throughout the neighboring Lower Richland community. Over 31 groups volunteered their time, money, services, food, and support for the run.

Recreation Director Lisa Smarr and Assistant Director Samuel St. Louis handed out awards after the 8K road race.

Stuart Moran and Michelle LaFleur took first place again in their specific gender group. Moran's finishing time was 24:35 and LaFleur's was 29:05.
