Miss Barr and Mr. Haltiwanger announce engagement

Dr. and Mrs. Peter Bruce Barr of Glenville, West Virginia, announce the engagement of his daughter, Christine Jane Barr, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to James Nance Haltiwanger Jr., of Anderson, South Carolina.

The bride- elect is the daughter of Peter and the late Carol T. Barr. Miss Barr is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald C. and Virginia P. Malcolm, Mr. Robert F. Topping, and the late Mr. and Mrs. George S. and Thelma C. Barr, all of Huntington, West Virginia. The bride- elect holds a master's degree in public health from the University of South Carolina and an undergraduate degree in biological sciences from Clemson University. She is the health and wellness coordinator for Rosenfeld Einstein in Greenville, South Carolina.

The bridegroom- elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Nance Haltiwanger of Columbia. He is the grandson of Mrs. Helen W. Haltiwanger of Columbia, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Eugene L. McDuffie and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Summer Haltiwanger of Columbia. Mr. Haltiwanger is currently pursing a degree in Marketing from Clemson University, where he was awarded the Arthur M. Spiro Award for Excellence in Entrepreneurship and the S.C. Collegiate Entrepreneur Award. The Columbia native founded Outdoor Interactive, Inc., where he serves as president/ CEO.

The wedding is planned for August 2, 2008, in North Myrtle Beach.
