Trinity bazaar, mission and ministry center raises over $57,000 The 59th Annual Bazaar of Trinity Cathedral, held in November 2007, netted $57,413.66, which goes back into the community for outreach. Much of the highly successful event is attributed to the opening of the Cathedral's new Mission and Ministry Center to bazaar attendees, offering guests time and space to shop at leisure. The bazaar's re- sale booths were set up in the Center's gymnasium. The crowd did not have to wait in line or have a time limit as they had previously because space was so limited. Re- sale booths included Fine Threads (new and gently used clothing including furs), toys, Bargain Basement and Accessories (good, used clothing including many designer items with clothing starting at 25 cents) and the bazaar's famous Trinkets and Treasures (huge garage- like sale featuring some of everything, including antiques and other treasures). All net proceeds of the bazaar go to outreach. Each year, five local non- profit agencies receive the majority of the funds. Agencies this year include Children's Garden, Salvation Army Kids 2 Kamp, The Cooperative Ministry, St. Lawrence Place, and Young Life. Remaining funds go to standing missions and a small grants fund to meet requests throughout the year. Items not sold also go to non- profit agencies. This year, the cathedral will celebrate its 60th Annual Bazaar Saturday, November 15, from 10 am- 3 pm on the cathedral block, 1100 Sumter Street.
