Acolyte receives Lee Williams Service Award

Photo by Jim Covington Kristen Wood of Shandon United Methodist Church(SUMC) receives the Lee Williams Service Award for Outstanding Acolytes. Lee Williams, a former first grade teacher at Rosewood Elementary School and a member of SUMC, is "the most wonderful spirit," says Betty Bruner of SUMC. This award was named in honor of Williams for her 40 years of service to the young people of her church. She has been active in all areas of youth work including the children's choir and acolytes. She has been a faithful mentor to young people and seldom missed a Sunday preparing them for their service as acolytes.
