Creighton Boggs was awarded the South Carolina Bank and Trust Day Maker Award for her dedication to homeless animals. With her is Jim Sonefield, president of the Animal Mission; Jack Goettee, regional president of SCBT; and Trustee, the SCBT mascot, which is a Boykin spaniel, the SC state dog.
Creighton Boggs was awarded the SCBT Day Maker Award for her contribution to the community at the Hootie and the Blowfish Party Animals event on March 14th.

Boggs, who is 13 years old, was selected because of her selfless dedication to raising money for homeless animals. Her efforts began in 2005 when she decided to have her friends make donations to help homeless animals instead of having a birthday party for herself. The project evolved into a charity called All 4 Paws and, since that time, she has raised over $3,365 and donated van loads of supplies to help homeless animals by organizing five All 4 Paws events.

The funds raised by Boggs go to provide free spay/neuter vouchers distributed by the City of Columbia Animal Shelter.

"I have always loved animals and plan to be a vet some day. Although I have two cats that were strays, I knew I couldn't adopt all of the animals who needed homes," said Boggs. "I figured I could still help the homeless animals by hosting a party and asking my friends to bring money and supplies for the homeless animals at the city shelter."

Boggs has also developed a website - www.all4pawscharity.org - which provides vital information on pet care and overpopulation. The site also encourages others to get involved in their own communities.

For her selfless dedication to helping animals, Boggs has been honored with the Prudential Spirit of the Community Award in 2007 and the 2007 President's Volunteer Service Award was also profiled on WIS on their "People to Count On" segment, and was also a runner- up for the Prudential Spirit of the Community Award in 2008.

A student at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School, Boggs is the daughter of Sallie and Bill Boggs of Columbia. For more information about All 4 Paws, please visit her website at www.all4pawscharity.org.
