Girl Scouts send cookies to soldiers

Girl Scouts of South Carolina- Mountains to Midlands is partnering with Blue Star Mothers to send Girl Scout cookies overseas to soldiers. During the cookie sale, Girl Scouts offered customers the chance to purchase cookies that would be sent to soldiers currently serving overseas.

The cookies for Soldiers are delivered to the Blue Star Mothers where they pack and ship them to soldiers. Last year, the Columbia area shipped over 7,000 boxes.

Blue Star Mothers is a national organization consisting of mothers who have or have had children serving in the military. Throughout the year, the organization ships care packages and works with churches, schools and businesses to provide support for those serving at home and abroad.

Though the cookie sale is over, it is not too late to be involved. Blue Star Mothers will continue to take monetary donations to pay for the shipping costs. If you would like to donate, please contact Ann Ricard at annricard@alltel.net.
