Petal Pushers Garden Club learns about rain gardens
Contributed by Petal Pushers Garden Club

Tom Falvy, director of Science and Outreach for the S.C. State Museum, was the speaker for the March meeting of the Petal Pushers Garden Club. Falvy gave instructions for making a rain garden. A rain garden will help to improve community water quality because it will soak up water mainly from the roof and allow the water to slowly filter into the ground rather than run off to storm drains. Falvy noted that a rain garden is a garden and not a prairie. The focus is on flowers such as asters, blackeyed susans, and canna lilies.

Pam Ables was the hostess and Louise Grooms and Sandra Murray were co- hostesses.
