Virginia Felder Conn

Virginia Felder Conn, 69, died on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008, in Columbia, S.C. Ms. Conn was born in Raleigh, N.C. to John H. Conn Sr. and Virginia Guerry Conn. She is survived by a brother, the Reverend John H. Conn Jr. of Brookline, Massachusetts, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She attended city schools in Columbia and graduated from Dreher High School with the class of 1957. She attended the University of South Carolina.

All her life Ms. Conn displayed interest in stylish clothing and satisfied her fashion interest by working with her mother in a boutique dress shop and other retail stores. She also had a deep love of nature; mainly cats, birds, flowers, and gardening. She was an advocate of controlling the stray cat population through neutering, loved to garden and grow plants, and feed her birds. As a child during World War II she lived, along with her family, in the home of her late grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. LeGrand Guerry on Pendleton Street in Columbia.

A graveside memorial service will be at Elmwood Cemetery on Saturday, May 17th at 3 pm.
