Rosewood Crawfish Festival The Rosewood Merchant Association, in partnership with All- in Entertainment and Liquid Assets, is gearing up to bring Louisiana's style to the Midlands on Saturday, May 3, 2008, at the 3rd annual Rosewood Crawfish Festival from 11 am- 8 pm as lovers of all things Creole and Cajun fill Rosewood Drive and revel in fresh Louisiana grown crawfish and other great food. Music From nationallyrenowned headliners Cowboy Mouth and Cracker to Columbia's own King Hippo, Josh Roberts and the Hinges, and Sunshone Still, this year's festival line- up is sure to please music lovers of all kinds. And for authentic bayou rockin' tunes, look no further than St. Matthews band Mudfish, also appearing at Rosewood Crawfish Festival on Saturday afternoon. Family Fun The Community Events Expo area will have performances by local dance troupes, skateboarders, martial arts specialists, Double Dutch teams, magicians on the corner of Rosewood Drive and Howard Street, artists at the Artisans' Showcase. The Kid's Area will have face painting, crawfish races, rides, inflatable's, and much more! Pole- vaulting talent will take to the skies at the 2nd Annual Street Vault competition starting at 11am and running throughout the day. Building the Community: A majority of the festival proceeds are going to improve Rosewood Community parks, recreational sites and greenways. A portion of the funds collected will also be donated to local charities and The Louisiana Crawfish Farmers Association. Admission & Parking
Tickets are $10 at the gate with discounted tickets available at a number of locations including Dano's Pizza, Rosewood Market, and Manifest Discs. Children 12 and under can enjoy free admission to the festival. Parking for the festival is located at the corner of Rosewood Drive and Assembly Street.
