Adam Westmoreland struck out 16 Midland Valley hitters and threw a complete game to lead the Brookland- Cayce Bearcats over Midland Valley 3- 1 in AAA baseball playoff action Monday, May 5. The Bearcats will now play for the Lower State championhsip on May 9 and await the winner of the Midland Valley vs. Lake City/Lakewood game. The Bearcats need win only once for the championship, but would have to be beaten twice to lose it.

In the game Monday night, Charles Martin went 2- for- 2 with an RBI single. Jacob Oren led off the fourth inning with a double and eventually scored. Jeff Estep scored in the fourth and the sixth.
