Iron Man
Cinemas to see Iron Man,
and it was well worth the price of admission. There were some inconsistencies between the comics and the movie, but it wasn't enough to damage the experience. The soundtrack caught my attention because Back in
Black was used as the opening song and that is one of my all time favorites. I had expected it to kick off with Iron Man
which is also high on my list of favorites, but they threw me a curve. The storyline begins in the Middle East, unlike the comics which begins in the Far East. The premise of the movie is, wealthy genius Tony Stark has gone to the warzone to demonstrate his new weapons technologies. He is captured by terrorists and forced to build weapons for them with the help of a fellow scientist. Unbeknownst to his captors, Stark builds a suit powered by a generator in his chest used to keep shrapnel away from his heart and uses it to escape. This is where the fun starts. The special effects and the action were top notch. The explosions were spectacular and the suit wasn't bad either. Small nuances throughout the movie seemed almost real because of the detail. As the plot progresses, a web of deception is woven quite masterfully. The film was great family entertainment and easily rated four stars. I was so pleased with the movie that when I got home I checked the video game reviews on the internet. I was disappointed to learn the reviews reported problems with the game play, environments, and quirky controls. Too bad the same geniuses who created the movie didn't work on the video game. |
