Bengals commit

Ten Blythewood High School seniors have announced their plans to continue their successful athletic careers on the collegiate level.

Kaitlyn Overly and Alesia Jerrells have both committed to play lacrosse at Erskine College next year.

Peter Candela will play lacrosse for Limestone College next spring while Cameron Overton will play for Birmingham Southern. Both players were selected to play in the S.C. Lacrosse All- Star game and were both selected as first- team all- state members. Overton was selected as the S.C. goalie of the year and selected as a member of the All- American team.

Lindsay Taylor will take her soccer skills to Fitchburg State College in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.

Keshia Henderson, the Region III- AAA girls' basketball player of the year, has committed to play for Benedict College.

Henderson was a 2008 North- South All- Star and an all- state selection the past two seasons.

Whitney Hopkins, an All- Region selection in 2007, has committed to play for Francis Marion University next season. Michell'e Goodman and Kayla Brown have each committed to play for Denmark Technical College next fall.

Nicole Rountree, a member of the Lady Bengal softball program, has committed to play for Spartanburg Methodist next spring.
